Dietmar Vestweber new member of the European Molecular Biology Organization

Professor Dr. Dietmar Vestweber, Director at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine and Head of the Department Vascular Cell Biology, was elected as a new member in the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO). EMBO announced this on October 19, 2009. EMBO elects new members annually on the basis of scientific excellence. This year, EMBO elected 66 leading life scientists from 16 different countries. The new members represent a broad cross-section of all fields of molecular biology. EMBO is an alliance of the best life scientists in Europe. EMBO members foster excellence in molecular biology in various manners: they are member of committees, mentor young outstanding scientists and initiate new activities for EMBO.
